Workplace rituals

Nobody talks about the moment a team quietly stopped caring. But every leader has felt it. Here is something I see in organisations more than I would like to admit. People are busy. Leaders are stretched. And somewhere along the way, the small moments that used to hold teams together quietly disappeared.

  • The Friday wrap-up.
  • The two minutes at the start of a meeting to actually check in.
  • The acknowledgement when something goes well.

They feel unnecessary when the pressure is on. But they are precisely what people need when the pressure is on.

Workplace rituals are not about adding more to an already full plate. They are about creating the moments that remind people why the plate is worth carrying in the first place.

If your team is overwhelmed right now, I would ask you this before you restructure a single thing: When did you last create space for connection to happen on purpose?

Sometimes the fix is not another process. It is a simple, consistent, human ritual - done well and done regularly.

I work with organisations to build these habits into how they operate, not as an add-on, but as part of how work actually gets done.

If that sounds like something your organisation needs, let us talk.
